‘Beth’s course brought me closer to my daughter’

This four-week course introduced new ways of relating to my new teen. At age 13, we are both still getting used to new dynamics and challenges that are the result of our new identities. She is suddenly a teen and I am a mom of a teen. Being a teen today is quite a bit different than when I was one. Beth’s course definitely brought me closer to my daughter, just like the course promises. It was also interesting to hear from other parents like me, who are struggling with many of the same issues that are happening in our home – fortunately, Beth’s insights and suggestions were very helpful and always compassionate. The presentations, additional information on the platform and the discussions were filled with rich and diverse resources. My teen also loved doing the quizzes with me.

‘Life is much calmer now!’

When I first contacted Beth, I was in a dark place. A single mum of two teens, I felt I had lost control of many situations and my teens were just walking all over me. It has been wonderful to work with Beth – she came highly recommended by a colleague whose son had had some coaching with her and the colleague had been very impressed with how Beth had implemented some strategies with him helping him with his school anxiety. I think the fact that she works with teens on a regular basis means that she can easily relate to their issues. Beth has really helped me gain perspective and provided tips and strategies at some challenging times. Beth is extremely supportive, non-judgemental and was able to suggest different approaches to find the best solution. I learned techniques and tools and we communicate so much better now as a family. The strategies that I implemented have reduced the amount of conflict but more importantly have allowed me to not take things so personally and that has been a game-changer for me. Beth is generous and supportive, and I highly recommend working with her.

‘Beth is a person full of empathy and humanity: a dedicated teacher’

Professor Dawson’s teaching approach is something that is very rare and precious in the French educational system. She is a dedicated teacher, who obviously knows her subject, and conveys her knowledge in creative, fun, and engaging ways. She takes the time to get to know her students and shows nothing but friendliness and respectfulness towards them. I also really appreciate the diversity and originality of assignments as I usually get bored with doing the same things over and over again, but she manages to make her classes so interesting! Overall, she is, at the same time, a person full of empathy and humanity, and a competent professor.

‘Beth gave me all the tools to pass my competitive exams with flying colours’

Beth was my teacher at the Sorbonne University and a great mentor of mine. She is passionate, dedicated and she allowed me to develop my critical judgement. She gave me all the tools to succeed my entrance exams with flying colours for the CELSA competitive journalism school and Sciences Po Paris.

‘Beth taught me so many different study techniques that I wouldn’t have learned at school’

When my mum suggested a coach, I was more reassured because I didn’t want to talk about my feelings with someone my mum’s age but actually it was really good to talk to Beth because she really understood what I was going through and helped my mum to calm down. I was struggling with my schoolwork and my grades were really bad. Beth was always encouraging me, and she showed me how to break down tasks into smaller steps so I could get my work done better. However, we didn’t just talk about school, as she helped me deal with stress. She’s very funny and likes to recommend funny YouTube videos and I really looked forward to our sessions as she taught me so many different study techniques that I wouldn’t have learned at school. They should teach these things at school as it really helped me.
